Travel Accessory

The past month I have been quite the jetsetter. I went to London, Paris and Lebanon! I had an amazing time and of course did not want to come back:(
When traveling of course one must take lots of pictures to capture the memories. However, carrying around a camera can get annoying. The original camera bags are bulky, heavy and not so stylish. When carrying the camera around your neck after awhile it becomes a pain in the neck.
I love this Cynthia Rowley camera bag as it is very lightweight {the leather is supper soft}and so stylish. It was also nice that when it rained (London and Paris) I knew my camera was protected.

Other colors available:

I just ordered the vanilla and rose as well!!!

Happy Friday Ya'll

the windy city...

Let me just say one thing...
I Love Chicago!!!

The food was amazing, the shopping was amazing, the sightseeing was amazing, I could just go on and on! There is so much to see and do in Chicago I will definitely go again.
I was quite surprised at how friendly the people were in Chicago. Here in the south we are known for southern hospitality, but I have to admit Chicago was just as hospitable. Along with all the other great things about Chicago, the weather was amazing-yet another reason I did not want to leave Chicago, coming back to the dreaded New Orleans heat:( Despite the weather being foggy, rainy or windy some of the days, overall it was perfect and did not ruin any plans for the trip.

At the famous BEAN:) or as its true name is the Cloud Gate.

The Willis Tower- Skydeck Chicago (formerly known as the Sears Tower)
I wasn't sure what to expect, if walking on the Skydeck was going to be scary looking down 100+ stories from the glass ledge or if it wasn't going to be scary at all- it was the latter. I figured I would be fine since I'm not afraid of heights, and since the CN tower in Canada was not scary for me which also has a glass area to walk on (although not as open as the skydeck).

View from helicopter of the Willis Tower (Sears Tower)...you can see the 4 glass ledge's
For the longest time I had been wanting to take a helicopter ride and I finally got to see the city of Chicago and surrounding areas in a helicopter tour.

Golf course with NO TREES! O but it has an Anchor! The anchor shape can be seen from above but when golfing on the course you can not tell its an anchor.

The Beautiful Buckingham Fountain!!!
I couldn't stop taking pictures of this fountain! I walked around the whole fountain and just kept staring at it...so peaceful!

Well Chicago till next time!

Flea Market Finds...

Vintage Gucci
Loved this mirror...it was sold
How cool are these XL Shades!!!

Niffty shelf and flower stands

These are handmade using soda can tabs

Didn't think I would see one of these again...my dad has a couple.

Look who I spotted! :o

Growing up I had my fair share of days at the flea markets with my parents {they love antiques}. I guess they kind of rubbed off on me {sort of}. Now that I have a secondhand store, I go to garage sales, estate sales and flea markets to look for items to resell. During the process I end up buying things for myself as well or, I buy things to sell but end up keeping them for myself...so not good!
There's nothing quite like the thrill of finding rare or exquisite items at a bargain. Not only do u find one of a kind pieces, but also that piece has a story to it: which flea market I got it from, the thrill of negotiating the price to get me to open my wallet, and how I came across that particular gem out of the plethora of things. Sometimes the seller even has a story to tell about that particular piece.
I recently went to a flea market and found a few pieces for myself...

LOVE my new jewelry tray!
Ivory salad servers

Gold salt and pepper shakers

Whether you collect certain things (china, cups and saucers, frames, vintage jewelry) or just like to
see what you can find at a flea market (garage sale, estate sale). Think outside of the box for some
other things such as... things you can incorporate with a gift to add a special touch, trinkets you can
display on a book shelf, or re-purposing.

What do you like to look for at flea markets?

Lady in Pink...

When I spotted this Roxy Juniors Sky Dive Woven Dress, it was love at first sight! I knew I had to have this dress {I get so many compliments when I wear it}. The fun angled hem was different from your ordinary straight hem and of course that bright pink color! I just can't get enough of pink for summer time, it is perfect both alone and paired with white. How about you, what do you think about pink in your closet for spring/summer?

Thanks for stopping by,

Jean Therapy

So you all know how hard it is to find a great pair of jeans and once you do...they become your favorite. Regardless of how many other pairs of jeans we have hanging in the closet we always gravitate toward the favorite pair, BUT they don't last forever:( Denim tends to wear and tear and its hard to depart with your one pair of loved jeans, you almost feel like you need to have a funeral service for your jeans. Fear no more! There is a solution! DENIM THERAPY...O how I wish I knew about them many years ago!!!

True story (now don't laugh at me:)): I had a pair of jeans that where the only pair that fit me nicely, MY FAVORITE. One day I went to T.J. Maxx, as I was walking along the side of the building towards the entrance, something that was sticking out from the wall ripped my jeans! I panicked, went back to my car, and called my mom balling crying (as if someone had died...in this case-something-my jeans!). My mom immediately thought something happened to me. When I finally told her what had happened she took a deep breath and told me its ok I will find another pair, what is important that I didn't get hurt.

Should my jeans need any repair in the future, I most definitely will be sending my denim to get some THERAPY:)

Nat

My Dad...

Whenever I hear the song, "I Loved her First" by Heartland, I get a lump in my throat. I couldn't agree more with the lyrics to this song-"I loved her first and I held her first, and a place in my heart will always be hers, from the first breath she breathed, when she first smiled at me, I knew the love of a father runs deep, and I prayed that she'd find you someday {he continues to that one day I will}..."

Not only do I remember my dad teaching me to ride my first bike, but he also taught me to drive. I will never forget he picked me up from dance class and on the way home he stopped at a Fairgrounds Race Course (currently a subdivision) with a huge empty parking lot, he pulled into the parking lot and told me he was going to teach me how to drive. What I remember about my first driving lesson-I was wearing pink stockings, black leotard and pointe shoes:)

My Dad (Bab in Armenian) has and still continues to work so hard to provide for his family. Although, he wasn't as fortunate growing up, he made sure to give my brother and I all the best he could. He has always supported me and has been there for me in every possible way. Even though my mom and I are best friends, people say I'm a Daddy's girl. My mom even says I always take his side, and I like to defend him (so not true, I don't take sides :)).

and now, the love he has for his granddaughter (now granddaughters) and the way his face lights up when he sees the two little munchkins puts a smile on my face.

Thank you for everything you do for me Dad!
I Love You!!!

 Grandfather (Dede in Armenian) duties:)

I can't believe this was my brother's 2nd Father's Day and now father to two beautiful girls . Seeing him with his daughters melts my heart<3 The girls are definitely going to be Daddy's girls:)

Father's Day is also a day I reflect back at memories I had with my Grandfathers (as well as many other days). I was about 6 years old when I lost both my Grandfather's around the same time. I thank God for giving me the time I did have with them.
In Loving memory of my Dede's

Nautical Stripes...

Sweet Things Diary Photo

Sweet Things Diary Photo
Similar striped dresses can be found at Target (Tank Maxi Dress) and LuLu's (Striped Midi Dress).

Happy Friday! It is definitely summer her in New Orleans, HOT/HUMID and rainy! What else reminds me of summer? Nautical stripes! Last weekend I decided to wear this nautical dress. Since our summers are so hot, I look for clothes that are light weight and comfortable. Finally the forecast for this weekend is going to be sunny, yay no rain!:) Just in time for Father's Day weekend. Hope everyone has a great time this weekend enjoying it with Dad on his day!

This look would have been more complete of its nautical vibe with a red purse; however, I forgot to switch out my purse, I realized after I got in the car. I don't know what I was thinking, o well it happens lol:)

Have a great weekend!!!
